=== The image fields arent abstract. === Creating societies between ourselves... Creating social scenes between ourselves... ... assembled from fragmented images, overlapping at different scales, from 1:1 scale to parts of miniature social gatherings, living room walls, buildings, settlements, workplaces, towns, city walls, cell walls, immune ststems, transport systems, battles and colonies. Taking things that we have experienced in different times and places innour lives and arranging them in one space at one time. Then roleplay as parts of those scenes experiencing and interacting with each other Use our speech and movement captured while role-playing to animate the scene. To drop off my self is to also drop off the society I have absorbed and now push out onto everyone else. The aim isn't to create a timeless model of society but to bring these parts from 'out there' to the spaces between us in the scene we're exploring in the here and now. to ask images whats happening around them in the image field and with the people close to them in the scene. - what do you sense, experience, feel, think..? - where do you want to be? - what might you say or do? - where do you move? I have a theory that white English men internalise colonial and patriarchal society and then project it out into the space between our bodies and other peoples. When I speak, most of the time im talking in a voice reaching out to 'foreign' others, Speaking into the space of men competing to dominate by telling it how it is Speaking like a diplomatic ambassador, translating our needs into negotiation with other societies. Thinking of the ways of speaking and holding ourselves we're (white men) trained to use for different situations, the tone of voice we use to.. - Convince other groups of men in the pub or the group chat Convince managers at work - Explain to a younger colleague how we should do something - Convince our partners what to do today The fields im making need to allow people to... - Bring ways of speaking and holding ourselves from other situations, lived and parasocial. - build societies in the spaces between us, like how kids play. - Soldiers fighting, - builders building homes and defences. - cars and trains moving - superheroes fighting baddies
