===== This practice needs a space ===== I could have the most amazing activities and aesthetic, but it won't matter if I don't bring about the right kind of space for people to encounter it in. In gestalt conversation is used. although spoken word can be unsatisfying, it is quick, readily understood and so works really well when looking to use dialogue to identify energies and intentions. Creating visual content for AR is time consuming. Creating bespoke imagery to represent each thought or feeling would be so time consuming it would be impossible to work with and capture natural feeling group dynamics. My aim is to find a way of working with spatial compositions of fragmented images in relation to bodies that feels quick and resonant enough to describe the groups experiences of the group dynamics as it emerges. The benefits could be imagery in space can better represent I need to work with people to cocreate their own visual language to represent their own phenomenological experiences. Suspending normal ideas of who they are and what they think or should think, focusing more on embodied sensations, perceptions of situations and the dialogue between themselves and others. But I want to do that visually and spatially in augmented reality. Finding images that resonate with what they are experiencing in the moment. This will require a shared understanding and acknowledgement that we are working with a limited and imperect kind of visual shorthand. There are similarities. Words and conventions around conversation exist before the conversation and the experience of dialogue. This could work as a visual version of the classic gestalt activity 'Inwardly I am noticing, outwardly I am noticing'. In pairs, taking it in turns to position ready prepared fragmented imagery. One to represent what we are noticing and experiencing inwardly, the other what we ard noticing outwardly, in relation to bodies in a situation. I need to create a space for groups to explore a practice that has aspects of visual art and therapy. This isn't a traditional studio or therapy room. It dosent have to be permanent, it can be evoked temporarily.
