An augmented image field

Around the periphery of the scene there is a field of augmented images that participants can see in the same social AR app as the characters avatars. This peripheral field will be made up of parts of images of people, places and things from 90s pop culture and personal archives that weren’t present or wanted in the scene in the park. The field of fragmented images should cover and represent a huge range of different ways of responding to the situation - almost every variation imaginable of possible social performances that would and wouldn't normally be supported in that space. My aim in curating the field would be to find a wide range of image fragments of behaviours that society would expect to find in that situation, and a wide range of fragments of people or behaviours who you wouldn't expect to be in that situation and many things in between.

Participants can move, scale and position these images in a shared augmented space with accuracy down to a cm, Everyone see the same scene, things are positioned in exactly the same place for everyone, if someone moves an image using their phone it will be moved for everyone else in real time. This should give participants a degree of fine control when composing where images are in relation to each other, the space and the characters avatars and the flexibility to allow the composition to change as they step through the scene.
