defensiveness
The more I meditate the more I realise I experience the world in a state of fear and defensiveness, seeing everything and everyone as a potential attacker. I adapted to that experience by trying to understand people better, to be seen as an empathetic person. Being a defender is living in a state of anxiety. Seeing everything as a threat. Attack as a form of defence. Reading situations to snuff out threats before they happen.
